The Mary Onettes

The Mary Onettes are an indie dream pop band from Jönköping, Sweden, signed to Labrador Records. To date, the band has released two full-length studio album and four EPs.

The Mary Onettes formed in 2000 by Philip Ekström (vocals, guitar), his brother Henrik Ekström (bass), Petter Agurén (guitar), and Simon Fransson (drums). The band was drawn together by their common interest in '80s and '90s music.

Don Fleming (born September 25, 1957 in Valdosta, Georgia) is an American musician, best known for being the frontman of bands such as Velvet Monkeys, B.A.L.L., and Gumball. He was also a member of Dim Stars. He is more widely known as a seminal producer for bands such as Sonic Youth, Teenage Fanclub, and The Posies.

Sebadoh - Flame

Sebadoh is an American indie rock band formed in 1986 in Westfield, Massachusetts by Eric Gaffney and Dinosaur Jr bass player Lou Barlow. Along with such bands as Pavement and Guided by Voices, Sebadoh helped pioneer lo-fi music, a style of indie rock characterized by low-fidelity recording techniques, often on four-track machines. The band's early output, such as 1990's Weed Forestin' and 1991's Sebadoh III, was typical of this style, and wavered between Barlow's wry, introspective folk and Gaffney's psychedelic noise-rock experiments.

Curve - Ten little girls

Curve was an English music group formed in 1990 chiefly around the collaboration of singer/songwriter Toni Halliday and bassist/guitarist/programmer Dean Garcia.

For the most part, Curve's music was typified by heavy beats and densely-layered guitar tracks set against Halliday's sometimes airy, sometimes intense vocalizations of lyrics that frequently explored topics such as alienation, addiction, lust, romance, and love on the wane. While the band's early releases were either lumped in, by certain British music reviewers, with the then-popular shoegazing style of guitar-based rock music, or said to borrow heavily from Gothic rock, their second LP Cuckoo was noted to feature a broader set of influences, such as industrial and electronica. On Come Clean, and the records that followed, the electronic portions of the band's music became more prominent - to the extent of some recordings from the final years of their career featuring hardly any guitar sounds. Perhaps also as a result of this development, fans of the group are divided as to which Curve release is the most satisfying.

Adorable - Sunshine Smile

Adorable were a British alternative rock band. They formed in Coventry in 1991, and consisted of band members Piotr Fijalkowski (Vocals, Guitar), Robert Dillam (Guitar), Stephen 'Wil' Williams (Bass) and Kevin Gritton (Drums)

After recording a 12" of "Sunshine Smile" ("I'll Be Your Saint" & "Breathless" on the b-side) that was pressed up to be released on record producer Pat Collier's 'Money To Burn' label the band received a gushing review in the NME. The single was never released. They signed to Creation Records in 1992, and after a UK tour supporting Curve they released their first single a re-recording of "Sunshine Smile" in May of that year. Distancing themselves from the Shoegazing movement, by attempting to be more outspoken than traditional shoegazers, Adorable were briefly seen along with other bands Suede and The Verve as being a part of a new movement tagged 'New Glam', a label attributed to Fijalkowski's assertion that "we want to put the glamour back into pop".

Drop Nineteens - Winona

Drop Nineteens were a Boston-based indie rock band active from 1991 to 1995. They were one of a few U.S.-based bands who styled themselves on England's distinctive shoegazing sound, taking their inspiration from bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Th' Faith Healers, and Bleach. The band was formed by former classmates Greg Ackell (vocals, guitar) and Chris Roof (drums), who recruited Paula Kelley (vocals, guitar), Steve Zimmerman (bass), and Motohiro Yasue (guitar).

STRANGELOVE Hysteria Unknown

Strangelove were an English alternative rock band, formed in Bristol in 1991.
The band's initial line up was:

* Joe Allen, bass
* David Francolini, drums

Francolini played two gigs with the band, before being replaced by John Langley on drums. The band were joined by keyboard player, Nick Powell, from late 1995 onwards.

The band released their first EP Visionary in 1992 on Sermon Records, which was made 'single of the week' by Cathi Unsworth in Melody Maker. Two BBC Radio 1 John Peel sessions followed in June 1992 and January 1993. Their second EP, Hysteria Unknown, in 1993 earned them a support slot on Radiohead's Pop is Dead tour. Ed O'Brien said of Strangelove; "We toured with them and changed quite a bit after. They were inspirational. Apart from their trousers". Manic Street Preachers' Richey James Edwards was also a fan, inviting them to support at the London Astoria on the penultimate gig before his disappearance in 1995.

Strangelove released their first album, Time For The Rest Of Your Life to critical acclaim in August 1994 on Food Records. It made numerous top albums of 1994 polls, and brought them to the attention of Suede who invited them to support on their Dog Man Star European tour. The two bands bonded and covered each other's songs at Sala Multiusos Zaragoza on 16 May 1995. Strangelove played Suede's "Killing of a Flashboy", whilst Suede played "She's Everywhere", which Brett Anderson then guested on in the studio, for Strangelove's second album, Love and Other Demons. It was released in June 1996 on Food Records. The second single from the album was "Beautiful Alone", which went to number 34 in the UK Singles Chart.

A third, eponymously-titled album was released in October 1997, which yielded another UK Top 40 single, "The Greatest Show on Earth", and sell-out shows at the London Astoria and Shepherds Bush Empire. However, Strangelove split up on the 20 April 1998.
